Forest School

Learning outdoors is a fantastic way to develop speaking and listening skills, imagination and teamwork.  Mrs Patteson, our KS1 teacher is a Level 3 Forest Schools Leader and leads weekly Forest School sessions. Our youngest children follow the Forest School programme all year and the other year groups have half a term each.  Waterproofs and wellington boots are a necessity – the only weather that stops us going down to the woods is a high wind.

Forest Schools

We are very lucky to have our own Forest School area adjacent to the school . This area is a beautiful idyll  where the children have the opportunity to explorer the woodland and take part in a range of supported activities led by our own Forest leader.

Our reception- aged children experience Forest Schools every week and each year group has at least half of term of sessions each year. This activity reflects the schools' vision of caring for our environment and our children always cite it as a highlight of their time with us when they leave us for pastures new.

Woodland Trust Award

The learning that the children do as part of Forest Schools has meant that we have been awarded the bronze, silver and gold awards from the Woodland Trust
