Vision and Values

We are a small, church school, in the heart of Birchanger Village (between Bishop's Stortford and Stansted), which really does celebrate our school ethos of  'Life in all its fullness' (John 10:10).  We pride ourselves on our nurturing culture and knowing all our children and families.

At Birchanger Church of England Primary School, our Christian vision of 'Life in all its Fullness' underpins all that we do. We are committed to enabling every member of our school community to flourish academically, spiritually, socially and emotionally. Our vision is brought to life through our 4Bs Values: Believing, Being Our Best, Being Creative and Belonging.

Each of our values is rooted in a biblical parable that helps children understand and live out these principles in their daily lives. Believing is inspired by The Parable of the Two Builders, encouraging us to build strong foundations in faith, character and learning. Being Our Best is underpinned by The Parable of the Farmer and the Seeds, reminding us that growth comes through perseverance, resilience and making the most of every opportunity. Being Creative is linked to The Parable of the Talents, encouraging us to use and develop the gifts and talents God has given us. Belonging is inspired by The Parable of the Lost Sheep, reflecting our commitment to ensuring that every individual is valued, cared for and included within our school community.

It is through our vision and the four Birchanger 'Bs' that we offer the children an exciting, vibrant curriculum in which all children can flourish.  We encourage our children to take on leadership roles and, along with the Head Girl and Head Boy, we have a school council for each Birchanger 'B'.  As a school we not only strive for every child to fulfil their potential, both socially and academically, but also for every child to be happy and to enjoy school.  We provide the children with rich experiences through  our enrichment programme of trips, visitors, sport, music and forest school, and believe that our vision, values and curriculum enable our children to become happy, healthy, life-long learners who leave ready to take an active role in the development of our modern society.
