Recently our nature garden has become very overgrown and as the brambles grew it became impossible for the children to use it. We wanted to create a peaceful area where the children could boost their wellbeing and take time to notice the beauty of nature. We also wanted the garden to enhance the curriculum with plants that would support learning in science and art.
We have very fortunate to have met Keiran Oliver the founder of a local charity called Human Roots who has supported us enormously with funding and muscle power to bring the garden back to life. Keiran has drawn help from lots of different sources and we are indebted to Stansted Airport volunteers and the Stansted Airport community passenger fund, the YIWG- youths initiative working group and The Birchanger Parish Council especially Cllr Khan and Cllr Caton.
Currently, we are two thirds of the way through our regeneration. On the 23rd April we shall position the new plants in their new home and the shed will get a new coat of paint. If you would like to join us then please contact Mrs Field or Mrs Oakes.
